Compare and contrast

I'm reading Misfit and i read Eaters of the dead, and i found some contrasts. One of them talks about demons and the other almost talks about Greek mythology. In the text of Eaters of the dead it says, "The custom of pederasty is counted by the Turks a terrible sin." This proves that it's almost like Greek mythology. The text in Misfit says, "He gently lays his webbed hand on her head." This proves that this book talks about demons and other spooky things that are happening in this book. Read Misfit to find out what's happening in her life. What books did you ever compare?

Misfit

I'm reading this new book called Misfit, and it's pretty funny because in the beginning she talks about her hair being so tangled. In the book it says, "It's actually really convenient that I can store all my pens and pencils in my hair." I thought that was funny because she saying that pens and pencils can be in her hair. Another quote says, "I'll just grow my hair a little longer so you don't even have to get folders this year!" This quote also made me laugh because she is saying that she would fit everything in her hair. What funny book did you ever read?

Eaters of the dead connection

I'm reading this book called "Eaters of the dead" and I found a connection . In the text it says, "That night we beached upon a rocky shore made of stones the size of a man's fist, and there Buliwyf, the land called Yatlam". I connected to this because when I went to the beach with my family I ended up seeing this small rock about the size of a man's fist along the shore. It wasn't too small or too big it was medium size. We also found another one but it was a little bit more big, about two fists. Did you ever find a rock that's about the size of a fist?

Eaters of the dead

Im reading this book called, Eaters of the dead. This is an interesting book because it sounds like Greek mythology. In the book it says, "The ruler of the Oguz Turks is called kudarkin". When I was reading this quote, the first thing I thought about was Greek mythology because people always say the ruler of this is called this. Another quote I found was, "None of the muhammadans can enter Turkish country until one of the Oguz agrees to become his host". This quote also seemed like it was Greek because in Greek stories they would always say like an aquriment in order to do something. Overall this book is cool.

Michael Jordon

I'm reading about Michael Jordon and a challenge he faced was that he lost more games rather than winning them in the first season. Although they he still won some games after that first season. One of my most favorite quotes were, "I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying". This quote means that he admits that he fails but he needs to try to succeed. Another quotes was "I've failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed". This quote inspired me to do math, because it's saying that we should all try until we succeed. What is your favorite Michael Jordon quote?

Divergent

I'm reading this book called "Divergent" and I found a similie on page 38 of the text. It says "A pale ring of sunlight burns into the clouds like the end of a lit cigarette." I liked how they comepared the pale ring of sunlight and the end of a lit cigarette. I never really thought about like that. To me similies are the best figurative language because they all compare it to things to might not even thing of. Just how they got a sunlight and a cigar.

Compare and contrast

Ive read a poem called "Still I rise" and I also read bring me a dream. I compared the meaning to the texts because in the poem still I rise it says "You may write me down in history with your bitter, twisted lies, you may trod me down in the vary dirt but still, like dust, I'll rise." In the book it says "I tried to call dream deliveries", and this shows that the book Marshall tried to call dream deliveries. It means that Marshall will keep trying to rise until he finds out what's going on with dream delivers just like in still I rise, she will keep rising no matter what happens.

Theme

I'm reading this book called White Crow, and the theme that I found was always make good decisions.  In the text it says "We all make choices, thousands of them, each and everyday. Many are so small that we're barley aware of making them". This proves that we have to make good decisions. Also we have to make wise choices for out futures. In the text it says "These are choices we make for good, or ill, and they determine our future, and the future of those around us." This proves that we have to make wise choices for our futures and if we don't then we won't get a good future.

Sign post - memory moment

Im reading this book called Fountain of weird, and I found a memory moment. In the text it says, "I reminded him of the time we bought a book on witchcraft at the library book sale".This proves that this is a memory moment because he is reminding him of a time when they went to a library for a book sale. another piece of evidence says "But, but. . . Avery is my only child! Avery? That was the kid who traded the jar for Simon's wagon!". This shows that this is a memory moment because he is remembering that she was in his sight before.

Anne Frank

As we are reading Anne Frank we are learning that the adversity that Anne Frank faces are, arguing with her mom and dad. This relates to me because I sometimes argue with my parents. Another adversity that she faces is that she has to hide inside her small home with her family from the Nazis. This doesn't relate to me because I haven't hid from someone before. How does this relate to you?

Conflict

Im reading this book called "Bring me a dream", and the conflict of this book is about how a boy named Marshall who finds and advertisement called dream deliveries. Then he finds out that his dad had a nightmare and had come true. In the book it says "The advertisement showed a van driving on a cloud. The words beneath the van said: YOU DREAM IT, W'ELL DELIVER IT. BEST RATES IN EERIE. CALL NOW, TOLL FREE." This proves that the conflict is how he finds an advertisement called "dream deliveries". In the text it says "I picked up the bill. It was for $7,564.13, to be exact. It had come in an envelope marked as DREAM DELIVERIES. I had a nightmare about this last night, said my father". This proves that this conflict is about how nightmares come true. This is an internal conflict because he is worried that he would get a nightmare and would come true.

Holocaust opinion

People just watched this happen because they knew that if they stood up, then the Nazis would harm them. They stood up for others because they wanted to be helpful and they didn't want to feel their pain. I would have sneaked up on the Jews and tried to rescue them because I wouldn't want them to suffer.

A place to travel

I would love to go to Tokyo because their amusement parks are the best, this roller coaster goes underground and you get sprayed with water. The houses are so extreme and looks like rooms stacked up on each other. My second place I would like to visit is Florida because their beaches are so clear and not as dirty as the other beaches around here in Illinois. Overall I would want to go to Tokyo and discover theses houses in person and the amusement parks.

Compare and Contrast

Through out this quarter I've read these two books which are "Wickedpedia" and "Diary of a wimpy kid". The things that they have similar are that they both are teen fiction, and the difference is that they both have their own conflict. In the text of Wickedpedia it says "You killed Mr. Henderson, too?". In the text of Diary of a wimpy kid it says "I can't believe Rowley went and backstabbed me like that." This shows that they both have their own conflict.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days

I'm reading this book called Diary of a wimpy kid Dog Days. I like how this book heads to summer vacation, and sometimes they don't turn out well. In the text it says  "due to lightning, the slip slide water park is now closed. Thank you for coming, and have a nice day." This proves that sometimes Greg's vacation don't all turn out the way he wants them to be. So far this book is going great, if you are a Diary of a wimpy kid reader this might be one of your favorites. The genre I would give it, is teen fiction .

Diary of a wimpy kid

Im reading "Diary of a wimpy kid" and I had a comment of how there was a cheese touch in the book. I thought that it was pretty immature that the cheese touch existed because that is like elementary. In the text it says "It meant that I have the Cheese Touch", this shows that the cheese touch existed and that it was immature. Everything else is alright and I recommend this book if you haven't read it yet. I would say that this book's genre is teen fiction.

New Year Resolution

A resolution I have, is to go to the gym and getting more strength. Secondly, is to obey my parents more because sometimes they say to throw out the trash but then I don't want to.
